Carrier Performance Metrics and Evaluation

Edited

Overview:

The Convoy Platform evaluates carrier performance based on three quality metrics: On-Time, Falloffs (Cancellations), and App Use. Based on a carrier's service score for each metric, one of four ratings is assigned: Excellent, Acceptable, At Risk, or Suspension.

You can view your performance ratings in the Convoy Platform app on the "Profile" tab.

Quality Metric Details:

Convoy Platform's On-Time Policy:

On-Time is measured by whether the driver arrives at each stop by the appointment time listed on the ratecon. The later a driver arrives past the appointment time, the more it hurts the carrier's score. Carriers will receive partial credit if the driver arrives less than 60 minutes late to their appointment. Any arrivals 60 minutes or more after their appointment will be considered 100% late. Visit here to learn more about how we evaluate late severity.

Late arrivals that DO NOT impact your score:

  1. Arriving late due to a non-carrier caused delay at a previous stop on loads booked on the Convoy Platform.

  2. Arriving within 10 minutes of the scheduled appointment time.

  3. Arriving reasonably late to pickup due to accepting the shipment within 2 hours of the pickup appointment time.

Late arrivals that DO impact your score:

  1. Arriving more than 10 minutes past the scheduled appointment time.

  2. Arriving late to a stop due to overbooking yourself on shipments (not allowing enough time for unloading/unloading + transit).

  3. Arriving late to an empty trailer return appointment.

Convoy Platform's Falloff Policy:

A Falloff occurs anytime a carrier cancels an accepted load. Not all falloffs have the same impact to the network however, so we use variable scoring depending on the severity of the falloff:

Falloffs

  • Falloff occurs more than 48 hours prior to pickup = No Scorecard Impact

  • Falloff occurs between 24 to 48 hours prior to pickup = Partial Scorecard Impact

  • Falloff occurs less than 24 hours prior to pickup = Full Scorecard Impact

Note: Falloffs that occur less than 5 minutes after accepting do not impact your scorecard if the falloff occurs more than 8 hours prior to pickup

Convoy Platform's App Use Policy:

App Use requirements are a set of location tracking, driver identification and document submission steps. Successfully meeting App Use requirements during a load provides brokers real time shipment tracking visibility, reduces status update calls and emails, and allows faster payments to carriers.

Convoy Platform's App Use Policy and Requirements:

  1. The correct driver and/or device is assigned to the shipment.

  2. Location services are enabled 4 hours prior to pickup and remain enabled throughout the entire shipment.

  3. A Driver/Dispatcher marks completion events for each stop.

  4. A GPS signal of the assigned device is detected at each stop’s facility.

  5. A clear image of the BOL entire is uploaded into the app within 24 hours of completing the final delivery stop of a shipment.
