What are Reloads?
Reloads show you available loads near a load's delivery stop, so you can plan your next run and reduce empty miles between hauls.
The Reloads section appears on the load details screen in the Convoy app. It's visible before you book a load, so you can factor reload availability into your bidding and booking decisions, and remains accessible after you've booked, as you approach or complete the delivery.
Where to find it
Reloads appears on the load details screen in the Convoy app, below the stop information.
- Open the Convoy app.
- Find and open any load you're considering or have already booked.
- If there are reloads available, you will see a badge at the top of the load that indicates how many reloads are available.
- Scroll down past the pickup and delivery stop details.
- You'll see the Reloads section with a carousel of available loads.
Browsing reload options
The Reloads section displays a horizontal carousel of available loads. Each card shows:
- Payout: the book now rate for the reload
- Miles and deadhead miles: total trip length and how far you'd drive from the delivery stop to the pickup
- Origin city: where the reload picks up, and how many hours after delivery the pickup window opens
- Destination city: where the reload delivers
Swipe through the carousel to browse options without leaving the load details screen. To see full details on a specific reload, tap View Reload on that card. This opens the complete load details for that reload, including broker information, payment method, and load requirements.
Sorting and filtering
Tap Sort & Filter from the full reloads list to adjust how results are displayed.
Sort by
- Payout (default): highest payout first
- Pickup time (soonest first): loads with the earliest pickup windows at the top
- Pickup time (latest first): loads with the latest pickup windows at the top
Reload destination
- Anywhere (default): all available reloads regardless of destination
- Backhauls only: filters to loads that deliver back toward the pickup destination of the original load.
Max deadhead
A slider that sets the maximum empty miles you're willing to drive from the delivery stop to the reload pickup. Options: 15, 25, 50, 75, or 100+ miles. Tap Show Results to apply your selections.
Booking a reload
Reloads are live load postings on the Convoy Platform. Booking a reload works the same way as booking any other load.
- Tap View Reload on any card to open the full load details.
- Review the load details, broker information, and payment terms.
- If the load supports instant booking, tap Book to commit.
- If the load supports bidding, tap Bid to submit your rate.
Frequently asked questions
Why do some delivery stops show more reloads than others? Reload availability depends on how many loads are posted with a pickup near that delivery location. High-volume freight areas will typically show more options. Thin or rural markets may show fewer or none.
Can I bid on a reload if the rate doesn't work for me? Yes. Loads that support bidding show a Bid button on the full load details screen. Tap it to enter and submit your rate.
What are deadhead miles on a reload card? Deadhead miles is the distance from the delivery stop to the reload's pickup location.
Can I save a reload to come back to it? Yes. Tap the bookmark icon in the top-right corner of any load details screen to save it. Saved loads are accessible from the 'All Loads' tab in the app.
